CASEWV, Inc. was founded on December 8, 1964 as the Mercer County Economic Opportunity Corporation. The agency changed its name in 1997 to Community Action of South Eastern West Virginia (CASEWV). And, sixty years since its founding, the agency remains committed to addressing the root causes and conditions of poverty in our communities.

CASEWV is one of 16 community action agencies in the Mountain State and one of more than 1,200 nationwide.

CASEWV is a private, non-profit, 501(c)3 organization and comprehensively provides services that extend through 12 counties throughout southern West Virginia. CASEWV is the designated community action agency for Mercer, Monroe, and Summers counties.
